Melissa manages the Renewable Energy Division of Halco. She has significant experience handling initial client inquiries, completing preliminary project feasibility reports, conducting site visits, and drafting system designs and project proposals. She also handles much of the Division's business development and advertising, as well as manages and participates in most installations. To date, Melissa has designed and installed over forty (40) solar electric systems and six (6) solar heating systems in the Central NY area, and has been a primary installer in the design and installation in a growing number of geothermal heat pump and wind systems. She has been extensively trained, and is a NABCEP-certified PV Installer, an IGSHPA certified geothermal installer, Building Performance Institute (BPI) Certified Building Analyst, NYSERDA-eligible installer, and PA Sunshine PV Contractor. Prior to coming to Halco, Melissa worked three years as a Sr. Project Designer and Installer of solar electric (PV) and solar heating systems at Renovus Energy in Ithaca, NY. Before joining Renovus, she worked for Public Citizen in Washington, DC as a technical analyst and local organizer helping communities to oppose new coal and nuclear power plants and make the case for renewable energy. She graduated with a bachelor's of science from Princeton University in 2002.
